Cyber Essentials 3.0 will be launching in January 2022
Cyber Essentials 3.0 – Now we’re now in full swing of 2022 here at Fourtify and are excited for the year ahead.
With this in mind, we wanted to keep you updated on the upcoming changes from the NCSC regarding Cyber Essentials.
The scheme is going to go through its biggest overhaul since it was first launched by the National Cyber Security Council (NCSC) in 2014.
These changes to the requirements are in response to the evolving security challenges faced by UK Businesses which have been heightened with the increase of remote working and cloud adoption.
Staff are no longer working 0900-1700 from the office. Hybrid working is now an expectation from staff and with this – corporate digital transformation is moving forward at the speed of light to accommodate their users. This has been further accelerated by the Covid-19 Pandemic which drove companies to quickly adopy hybrid working in order to continue operations.
With a new mobile workforce, operating from anywhere at any time, the National Cyber Security Council and IASME have re-modelled the technical requirements to meet these new challenges being faced by organisations.
The development of the NCSC Requirements for Infrastructure (Version 3.0) includes updated requirements to meet for:
- Cloud Services
- Home-Working
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Password Management
- Security Updates and more.
The new standard will officially launch on January 24th 2022. For those of you who have applied for Cyber Essentials OR are currrently going through a Cyber Essentials Assessment prior to this date – dont worry as you won’t be affected by the latest requirements. Any new applicants from January 24th will be assessed against the new Cyber Essentials 3.0 requirement standard.
You can find the new requirements document here: Requirements for IT Infrastructure 3.0
As always, please do get in touch with the team if you would like to discuss your requirements, you can reach us on: hello@fourtify.co.uk.
